Reflections on Hive Tracks/ Bee Informed partnership study

So our class split into three groups to brainstorm about the impacts of privacy, security, and intellectual property of the study. Our group discussed the intellectual property aspects of the Hive Tracks/ Bee Informed partnership.

Albeit it was a bit difficult to come up with the caveats involving intellectual property about the bee study, (which my group would likely agree, and maybe it was just us), we did find some interesting ideas. My input was kind of a broad approach to intellectual property here– that the same company or organization may only be registered/trademarked in a single country, and its possible to ‘rip off’ someone’s intellectual property and legally use their logo, company name, etc. in other countries like china. I think the same thing more or less applies to the bee study; are there equivalent programs like it in other countries? Is that ethical/ideal? So those are my thoughts.
